Zapier Chatbots

Zapier Chatbots is a no-code chatbot builder. You give the chatbot instructions, called a directive, add a greeting and optionally connect knowledge sources, like a file about your services, so it answers in your terms.

Chatbots are billed separately from your Zapier plan. The free Chatbots plan allows 2 chatbots, shared as a public link, with 7 days of conversation history. Paid Chatbots plans add more chatbots, website embedding, lead collection and longer history, and the top plan removes the Zapier label.

A chatbot can pass what it collects into a Zap, so a conversation can create a lead, a task or an email. Those Zap actions use tasks as normal.

I treat a chatbot as a front door, not a salesperson. It answers the common questions from content the client has approved, then hands anything real, like a quote request, to a Zap that puts it in front of a person.

The directive and knowledge source matter more than anything else. I keep the knowledge to things the client is happy to see quoted back, and I tell the chatbot plainly what it shouldn't answer, like pricing it doesn't know.
