Canvas by Zapier, a Zapier workflow diagram or a Zapier process map
Zapier Canvas is a visual map of a whole business process, showing the manual steps alongside the Zaps, Tables, Forms, chatbots and agents behind it. It's on every Zapier plan.
Canvas is a diagram tool inside Zapier. You lay out how a process works from start to finish, including the steps people do by hand, and link each automated step to the real Zap, table or form it uses.
You can draw it yourself or describe what you want and let Canvas suggest a system with AI. When you're happy, Build it adds the suggested Zaps and other pieces to your account as drafts you can edit, and Zapier Copilot can help with changes.
Canvas is on every plan, including Free. To build a whole suggested system, your account needs enough room on your plan for the forms, tables and chatbots it creates.
I map the process before I build anything. Most automation problems are really process problems, and a canvas makes the gaps obvious, like the step where someone forwards an email and hopes for the best.
When I hand over, every client gets a workflow diagram of their automations and a step-by-step guide to running them. It shows what every Zap does and where it fits, so when someone new joins or something breaks, they can see the whole system instead of opening Zaps one by one.
Canvas is a planning tool. The Zaps it links to use tasks as normal when they run.
Yes. Canvas is included on every Zapier plan, Free included.
It can suggest a system and add the pieces to your account as a starting point. I'd still check every step before switching anything on.
No. It's optional, but it's the easiest way I know to explain an automated system to someone who didn't build it.
I set these up and train your team, in your own ClickUp or Zapier account.
